Co-options

If a Parish Council vacancy is not filled via the election process the Parish Council can co-opt a person to become a Parish Councillor.

There is a specific Co-option Process  followed to ensure that the person who wishes to become a Councillor is legally able to do so and to ensure that a fair and transparent process is undertaken.

There are a number of stages to this process.

Initially the vacancy is advertised on the village noticeboards and the Parish Council website, if the timescale is sufficient it would also be advertised in The Rudd.

Interested parties complete and return the Eligibility Form

An interview is arranged in accordance with The Interview Process
