On Saturday 14th May 2016 Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ and ‘Haydn’s Nelson Mass’ were performed in St Peter’s Church, by Ruddington and District Choral Society.
Comments afterwards included ‘The Nelson Mass was fantastic’, ‘The Sopranos sounded wonderful’, ‘The Ruddington Choral Ensemble, who accompanied the Choir, are ‘a wonderful group of skilful players.’
Paul Hayward, new Musical Director was delighted. He said “All of the Choir’s hard work has paid off”.
The four soloists Grace Bale, Soprano, Katharine Choonara, Mezzo-Soprano, Geoffrey Hicking, Tenor and Ossian Huskinson, Bass were a pleasure to listen to.
An exceptional organist accompanied the Choir, Michael Overbury, making the whole experience hugely enjoyable.
In November the Choir will sing music by Rutter, Faure and Mendelssohn.
