Join the Framework Knitters Museum for some festive fun and celebrate the coming of Christmas Victorian style! “A Dickensian Christmas” will take place on Saturday 2 December from 11am to 5pm, running alongside the Ruddington Christmas Fayre. Entry is free.
You can toast tea cakes and chestnuts on an open fire, enjoy traditional carols around the Christmas tree and watch as the Maids of Clifton perform their own unique style of Morris dancing. There’ll also be craft stalls in the Chapel (which will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland), a lucky dip, tombola, barrel organ music – and much more!
Refreshments will be available throughout the day, including mulled wine and the museum’s very own ale, Frame Breaker, brewed for them by their charitable partner, Nottingham Brewery.
The museum is also running a Christmas card competition for the kids. The winning entry will be turned into a greetings card and sold in the museum shop, the Textile Emporium, next year. All entries will also be displayed in the Chapel Art Gallery during December.
