On January 18th the children of James Peacock School, led by the Deputy Head, Mrs Clemens, held a special assembly to say “Thank you” to the various individuals and organisations who had supported the school in their recent development of a Sensory Room. The multi sensory room is a designated space, appropriately resourced to be able to be either calm or stimulating as required, to support and meet children’s individual, long and short term emotional, physical and social needs.
Financial support to enable the purchase of the specialist equipment in the room was generously given by the Parish, Borough and County Councillors, the Extended Services Team, Friends of James Peacock, FSE Ltd, Ruddington Grange Golf Club (Ladies Team) and Welcome Finance. Each of them was presented with a “Thank you” card designed by the pupils. Individuals have also contributed various resources and collectively the result is a unique facility in our local school.
