For a while, the two retail properties on the corner of Ashworth Avenue and Rufford Road have been standing empty…but not any longer. Two new businesses are now operating from them.
Edward James Flooring, a business partnership run by Ed and Yvette, occupies 21 Ashworth Avenue. Ed has over 25 years of flooring retail experience whilst Yvette has a letting portfolio and runs a property development company with her sons.
Edward James Flooring have only been open for a matter of weeks but have already agreed to house a defibrillator outside their shop and meet its annual energy cost. The defibrillator was purchased with the money raised by Compound Strength and Conditioning, on Brookside Road, and by Emma Scott and her “Wilbur – King of Ruddington” team.
Next door, at 21a Ashworth Avenue, is L&A Hairdressing and Beauty. Louise and Aimee offer “all your hair and beauty needs brought to you in the friendliest atmosphere!” They’ve been open since July 2019 and over the summer, launched their St Peter’s Scheme. The scheme donates 10% of treatment costs to St Peter’s Junior School to help them buy new sports equipment.
These two new businesses in the village have truly immersed themselves in our community. So, if you need new flooring or a beauty treatment, do check them out.
