Last year, the Hareham Gardens Allotments on Asher Lane were victims of several shed break-ins. Allotment holders work hard to grow vegetables in these peaceful surroundings so damage like this is particularly hurtful.
Plans are now in place to improve the perimeter security of the allotment site. Thanks to the efforts of Councillor Reg Adair, a grant of £1,000 has been awarded by Nottinghamshire County Council towards the cost of some new fencing. The work is expected to take place this summer.
