At the beginning of February a new classroom was officially opened at James Peacock Infant and Nursery School by the Chair of Governors, Charles Rayner. Mr Rayner, who himself attended the school as a child, cut the ribbon in front of pupils, parents, staff, Governors and invited guests. These guests included Mathew Hall from the contractors, Robert Woodhead Ltd., whose work turned the vision of the head teacher, Mr Waldron into reality.
They utilised and transformed a previous open area between two classrooms to create the new classroom. Also present was the County Councillor for Ruddington, Reg Adair, who supported the new development with I.T resources. The opening of this room has seen the school capacity grow by 50%, from six classes in the main school in 2009 to the nine today. Ruddington is definitely growing! (By Barbara Breakwell)
