Christiane Chapire, Mayor of our French twin town was once again in Ruddington on Sunday 8th of November, laying a wreath at the War Memorial. He returned to France with Ernie and Doreen Gadsby. Ernie and Doreen are seen here laying flowers at the Grenay War Memorial on November 11th.
They also laid Ruddington’s wreathes at the British Cemetery and the Memorial to the French Resistance. They were taken to visit Ypres in Belgium to see the Menin Gate and visited the enormous French WW1 cemetery near Arras. Grenay hospitality was once again brilliant and the visit both poignant and memorable.
