At the end of January Ruddington Parish Council hosted a meeting at the Jubilee Clubhouse for local businesses. The aim was to find out what businesses want more of, and less of, so that Ruddington remains a thriving place to live in and work in. The initiative was not aimed just at the shops and restaurants in the village core, but at all enterprises that contribute to the local economy.
The room was so full it was standing room only. Cllrs Peter McGowan, Ken Piggot, and Nick Tegerdine, along with the Clerk, Gary Long, gave entertaining presentations to the audience. A really productive question and answer session followed with many positive ideas coming from the floor.
Not only will future events be held to build on this success but a regular dialogue will be established so that contemporary issues like parking and litter can be constructively addressed now.
