Poppy Brown, who has just completed her GCSE’s at Rushcliffe School, will be heading for Ecuador in South America in a few weeks’ time to spend four challenging weeks working on projects in local rural communities and in the rain forest.
She first enrolled on this Camps International scheme eighteen months ago and immediately had to start raising £4,500 to fund the trip. She is very grateful to many people including the Parish Council, The Guiding
Association, The James Peacock Education Fund, Local Rotarians, and many more private individuals. Old mobile phones and used computer inks were collected and sold and she held cake sales at the Country Park.
On her return she has to start fund raising again as she will be attending the World Guides Jamboree in Finland in August 2016 but we hope she will find time to tell us about her trip to Ecuador in a future Newsletter.
