Our village has a large area of it designated as a “Conservation area”. This area includes listed buildings and buildings of special architectural or historic character known as “positive buildings”
The implications of residing in or occupying a property within the designated area are that extra consent/permission will be needed to undertake various works.
This applies to the installation/ positioning of satellite dishes and solar panels, positioning of outbuildings, extensions and demolitions, external additions and alterations including external cladding and even the carrying out of work on trees.
Hopefully you will know if your home or business is in the Conservation Area. However, if you are in any doubt you can view a map in the Parish Council Office or by going on line at www.rushcliffe.gov.uk and putting ” Ruddington Conservation Area” in the search facility.
You can also contact the Design and Conservation Team for advice and clarification at design&conservation@rushcliffe.gov.uk or ring (0115) 981 9911
There are some details, and further links to the Rushcliffe Borough Council website on the Homepage of this website, lower menu.
