A massive ‘Thank You’ to everyone who entered the first Christmas Business Window Display Competiton. All of the hard work resulted in Ruddington looking very festive and welcoming. First prize went to Perkins. In second place was the Post Office and third place was awarded to Bluebells. The children of St. Peter’s School were ‘Highly Commended’ for the lovely artwork they produced for the C0-op window.
The team of independent judges was made up of Rev. Andrew Buchanan from St. Peter’s Church, Mrs Julie Lazonby from the Baptist Church and Rev. Simon Rose from the Methodist Church.
A big thank you to all of them for taking on this role at what is one of their busiest times of the year.
Their task was not made easy as they liked all of the displays and they were of an extremely high standard. I think we would agree with that statement and I am sure I was not the only person who thoroughly enjoyed walking around the village looking at the wonderful designs the businesses had come up with, thinking everyone was a winner. Thankfully it was the judges who had to make the final decision!
The presentations were carried out by the Chairman of the Parish Council, Cllr. Peter McGowan. By Cllr. Marion Pell
