The Community Bus is a free transport service that’s funded by the Parish Council. It will operate in the village on Wednesdays, collecting passengers between 10:30am and 11.30am, with the return journey taking place between 12 noon and 1pm.
During the pandemic, the bus service was suspended and has struggled to re-start due to a lack of drivers.
The Parish Council has recently reached an agreement with a community transport organisation called My Journey, based in Lenton. They’re a Community Interest Company (CIC) and provide both the bus and the driver.
The aim of the bus is to help less mobile residents get out and about at least once a week so they can visit the shops, the doctor’s, run other errands in the village centre, or attend the over 55s Coffee Morning held at St Peter’s Rooms on a Wednesday.
If you’d like to book a seat on the Community Bus, please email the Parish Council Office at office@ruddingtonparishcouncil.gov.uk or call 0115 914 6660.
The service is due to restart on Wednesday 27th April 2022.
