A few weeks ago, The White Horse Inn on Church Street started a new venture: a weekly Community Lunch.
Landlord Andy Hunt explains: “We want to give something back to our community whilst providing opportunities to be sociable. We hope the numbers attending continue to grow and we can offer some free lunches, probably one in the summer and one nearer Christmas.
“Our Community Lunches are for anyone and everyone, and are available between 12 noon and 3pm every Monday. We want people to come and enjoy a lunch, and then a tea or coffee afterwards, all for just £5. We’d love to get to the point where these lunches are bustling with people from Ruddington and the surrounding villages.
“The dishes on offer will change weekly and will include fish and chips, sausage and mash, stew and dumplings, and pie, mash and greens. We’ll be putting some lighter dishes on the menu in the warmer months.”
Why not pop along next time you’re free on a Monday lunchtime?
