Our village has a large area of it designated as a “conservation area”. This area includes listed buildings and buildings of special architectural or historic character known as “positive buildings”
Extra consent/permission will be needed to undertake various works for properties in the Conservation Area.
This applies to the installation/ positioning of satellite dishes and solar panels, positioning of outbuildings, extensions and demolitions, external additions and alterations including external cladding and even the carrying out of work on trees.
There are more details about conservation areas on the Parish Council website: http://ruddingtonparishcouncil.gov.uk/index.php/conservation-area/
Hopefully you will know if your home or business is in the Conservation Area. However, if you are in any doubt you can view a map on the Parish Council website (see above), in the Parish Council Office, or by going on line at www.rushcliffe.gov.uk and putting “Ruddington Conservation Area” in the search facility.
