Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has launched a consultation on the renewal of the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for the control of dogs.
RBC says this will continue to cover the whole of the district, with the exception of an area of Tollerton identified in the schedules to the Order, to control dog fouling, restrict dogs to leads in certain circumstances, and prohibit the presence of dogs in certain areas.
RBC proposes to continue with the PSPO in its current form as established in 2022 without amendment, unless evidence and support for any changes arise from the consultation.
The consultation will run until Friday 7th March 2025 and all responses will be reported to RBC’s Cabinet meeting in May for consideration of comments and any amendments, and, ultimately, approval.
If approved, the PSPO will continue from 8th July 2025 for a further three years before another review takes place. If the PSPO isn’t approved, there’ll be no offences for the controlling of dogs – and as such, your views are important.
