Rumours abound that the Country Cottage Hotel is about to be sold off to become a Nursing Home, or knocked down to make way for luxury apartments! Nothing could be further from the truth and it’s still full steam ahead at the Cottage.
In fact, owners Julie and Andrew Sturt have just welcomed a new Sous Chef, Liam, who’ll be working with the Head Chef to create some exciting new menus for all the celebratory parties the hotel hosts for local residents. The Cottage is proud to be the first choice for so many happy events as well as other, more sombre, occasions when we offer a popular and sympathetic venue for funerals.
The hotel team are also thrilled at being invited to join other village organisations in supporting our community this year. In March, the Cottage hosted a “Pop-up Shop” for the Friends of James Peacock School, and in May will be one of the venues for The Big Sing.
Did you know that three local Rotary groups and two Probus groups meet weekly at the hotel? There’s also a popular cut-price “Golden Years” lunch menu available to older village residents every Wednesday and Thursday, as well as a monthly charity lunch in aid of Maggie’s Cancer Care. All in all there’s something for everyone and all are welcome.
