The Framework Knitters Museum on Chapel Street is launching a new series of craft workshops designed to help textile enthusiasts hone their skills.
The first workshop will take place on Saturday 15 July. Called Vintage Ziggy Zag Flowers, it will involve using brightly coloured scraps of felt or wool, and cotton print fabrics, to hand-stitch a selection of stylised flowers. This is a great opportunity to learn some basic hand embroidery, or if you’re already an accomplished ‘stitcher’, add a few new techniques to your repertoire.
Vintage Ziggy Zag Flowers will be followed by a Helix Bracelet workshop on Saturday 5 August. You’ll have 48 different colours of wire to choose from and a choice of fastenings. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have at least one finished bracelet to take home.
Both workshops will take place in the Chapel opposite the main museum, from 10am to 4pm. Tickets cost £35 and must be booked in advance. To book, please call the museum on 0115 984 6914 or email helen.brownett@frameworkknittersmuseum.org.uk.
You’ll find more details of these and future workshops at the museum website and Facebook page.
