Do YOU pick it up?
We’re receiving more and more complaints about dog fouling in Ruddington and it’s becoming a real problem. Dog mess is smelly and unsightly, and it can also be a health hazard. No one wants to see it on our pavements or in our playgrounds. So if you walk your dog in and around the village, please make sure you always take plastic bags and a poop scoop with you – and use them! There are plenty of red bins around Ruddington and you can even get free poop bags from the Country Park office and the Parish Council office, so there’s no excuse not to clean it up.
If you’re still not convinced, maybe a hefty fine will change your habits. Dog fouling is illegal and you could receive a £50 ‘fixed penalty’ or a fine of up to £1,000. Rushcliffe Borough Council takes dog fouling very seriously and they always prosecute if they can. So letting your dog foul in a public place can be an expensive mistake to make.
Help us keep Ruddington clean
As well as clearing up after your own pet, we’d like you to help us stamp out the problem in Ruddington. So if you see someone letting their dog foul where it shouldn’t, report it to Rushcliffe Borough Council by calling 0115 981 9911. You can also complete a form on their website, www.rushcliffe.gov.uk. You’ll need to provide as much information as you can about the incident and, if possible, the offender’s car registration or address.
