Continuing our series of pieces on local celebrities, it’s the turn of the captain of Nottingham Forest FC, 29 year old Norwich-born Chris Cohen.
‘Having lived near Ruddington for over 9 years, I would say the best bit for me is Rushcliffe Country Park where we frequently take our son, as it literally has everything a little boy could wish for, especially in the summertime. We also like all the places to drink and eat which have improved year upon year. Our favourite is and always has been Gino’s Italian restaurant, where me and my wife are pretty sure it’s impossible to come out still hungry!
Something I would like to see in Ruddington is a farmer’s market once a month. I think that would be fantastic. And I know my wife would love a little women’s boutique shop somewhere on the High Street – but as I’ve said before, we love Ruddington the way it is and enjoy the way it is evolving.’
Chris joined Nottingham Forest in 2007 and despite three very serious injuries, he is one of the most popular and likeable footballers around. We wish him well for the remainder of the season and hope that he and his family continue to enjoy life in Ruddington.
