This month I had the pleasure of visiting The Framework Knitters Museum to collect Rushcliffe’s contribution to the Parliamentary COVID memorial quilt.
MPs were asked to contribute a square to represent their constituency in the quilt, which will be displayed in Parliament. There are so many talented volunteers and artists at the Framework Knitters Museum, who I felt were best placed to provide Rushcliffe’s Square. Many thanks to the Museum and to local artist Helen Brownett who created the square for our wonderful contribution.
I also enjoyed visiting the EMTEC Academy in Ruddington Fields Business Park. The Academy is run by Nottingham College and offers apprenticeships and commercial training in partnership with local employers and leading car manufacturers such as Kia, Tesla and Aston Martin.
I would also like to thank everyone who came to speak with me at Ruddington Market where I held a street surgery with the Parish Council. I’ll be holding more of these in the future, but in the meantime, if you have a problem or an issue, please do contact me via email at ruth.edwards.mp@parliament.uk or by phone on 0207 219 3549.
Some examples of the issues I can help with include: benefits, national insurance, visas and passports, tax and HMRC, NHS services, social services, crime, the DVLA etc.
