Did you know there’s a free Community Bus funded by the Parish Council which operates in the village on Wednesdays?
The service is run with the help of volunteer drivers and escorts who supervise the bus on its weekly run. Its purpose is to give local elderly residents access to the village. Several residents use it, but there’s always room for more.
Some people also use the bus to attend the Coffee Club that meets every Wednesday (except Christmas Day) from 10am to 11am at St Peter’s Rooms.
This is a social hour for over 55s to get together and chat over coffee or tea. Run by Lorna McCullough, this popular group is always grateful for volunteers to help prepare the drinks. If you’d like to help out, please contact Lorna on 0115 921 4975. To book a place on the Community Bus, please call the Parish Council office on 0115 914 6660.
