Residents of all ages are invited to take part in a free walking, wheeling and cycling event at Rushcliffe Country Park on Wednesday 13th August and enjoy a variety of free outdoor activities.
Hosted by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC), the event will run from 10am to 2pm and will include a wellbeing walk led by Rushcliffe Move and Mingle at 10.30am. Anyone is welcome to join the group, which will meet by the park’s café, Coffee and Cake by the Lake, at 10.20am.
Between 11am and 12.30pm, Skate Nottingham will be delivering free skateboard coaching sessions – a fantastic opportunity for attendees aged seven and above to hone their skills. To book onto the session, visit the Skate Nottingham website at www.skatenottingham.co.uk.
Residents can have a go on smoothie bikes and take part in a spin cycle challenge. Cyclists can take advantage of free bike maintenance and minor repairs from Rushcliffe Cycle Tech.
RBC’s Community Safety Team will also provide a bike marking and registering session, and RideWise will have a range of their adapted bikes for people to try out.
It’s all part of RBC’s Walking and Cycling Action Plan, which encourages residents to get more active and safely enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
RBC’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Wellbeing, ICT and Member Development, Cllr Jonathan Wheeler, said: “Come along to our free event this summer holiday where residents of all ages and abilities can take part in a variety of free walking, wheeling and cycling activities.
