Saturday 23rd July to Thursday 1st September 2022, The Chapel Gallery & Garden, Framework Knitters Museum
Garden Works is a collection of embroideries created by Common Threads participants, in partnership with the Framework Knitters Museum.
Common Threads is an arts organisation which supports health and wellbeing through creativity. Connecting museums and galleries with communities, it promotes the physical, mental, and social benefits which can be gained through creative practice.
Common Threads works with the Framework Knitters Museum, taking inspiration from its collections. This summer, we focussed on the beautiful gardens at the museum, inviting participants to create embroideries inspired by a garden or plant special to them.
Recent research has proved that connecting to nature can impact positively on health. Garden Works celebrates the wellbeing and contemplation this connection can evoke.
The exhibition is free to enter, as is the museum’s café, garden, and shop. It’s a peaceful, quiet oasis and everyone is welcome. It’s open from Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and Sunday from 1:30pm to 4pm.
