A Family History event will run at the Framework Knitters Museum and Ruddington Library on Thursday 23rd May from 11am to 4.30pm.
With more than half of Ruddington involved in the knitting industry in the Victorian era, many people are finding the initials “FWK” – which stands for “framework knitter” – in the census records of their ancestors.
In partnership with Ruddington Library, the Framework Knitters Museum are helping people discover more about their family’s past and what life was like for framework knitters.
You can visit the museum for free on 23rd May if you have FWK in your DNA. To find out more about your family history, you can book a free half hour research session. Call 0155 981 6914 or email office@frameworkknittersmuseum.org.uk to book.
