BBC Radio Nottingham has started an exciting Afternoon Show presented by Mark Dennison and broadcast Monday to Friday from 12 to 4pm. One of the successes of the previous Afternoon Show, was a feature called “Village People” where each week three people from one village were invited to talk about how great their village is. Feedback has confirmed that not only does the listener enjoy hearing about local villages but also those who have joined the show have also thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The BBC want to continue with this feature and the Parish Council has been asked whether there might be three people from a cross section of the community, who would like to take part to represent Ruddington. Volunteers would need to be available one Wednesday afternoon (date to be agreed) between about 2.45pm and 3.40pm, and Mark would chat to you about your village and what it’s like to live here. He wants to know about village life, current news and issues but would prefer nothing too political.
If you think you might like to get involved, please write to the Parish Council Office at the address on the CONTACT US page or email ruddpc@talk21.com with a little bit about yourself. In particular, tell us how long you have lived in the village and how much you get involved in village events, etc. If there are lots of people interested, the Parish Council can review the emails and letters to ensure there is a cross section of villagers.
