Climate change is often in the news. But just how bad are things really? And what can we do about it?
The planet is in ecological crisis. Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an unprecedented global emergency. Our children and our nation face grave risk.
In this public talk for Ruddington, Tom Barber from Extinction Rebellion (Nottingham) will share the latest climate science on where our planet is heading, discuss some of the current thinking around climate change, and offer solutions.
The event aims to raise awareness of and tell the truth about the current environmental crisis; arm local people with facts they can share with neighbours, friends and family; and consider what we can do about this in Nottinghamshire. There’ll be time to ask questions and for discussion afterwards.
The talk will take place on Thursday 18th July at The Hub, 62 Musters Road. Doors will be open and refreshments available from 7:30pm.
All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend, but due to the content of the talk, parental discretion is advised. Tickets are FREE but please note that places are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis as The Hub is a small venue.
Please obtain your tickets from The Honeycomb, Perkins Hardware store or by contacting Caroline on 07787 527 224 or at cas.cooke@gmail.com by Monday 15th July. Whilst the event is free to attend, donations towards venue and refreshment costs at the end will be welcome (only if you can afford to).
