Gifts for Year 6 children
James Peacock was born in Ruddington in 1585 and became a highly successful leather merchant in London. His Will made a gift of a farmhouse to be used as a school, and appointed Trustees to manage his legacy which is dedicated to the education of the children of our village.
Today, the Trustees continue to manage this and, as a result, all children of Ruddington, when leaving primary school, are eligible to receive a book, thesaurus and scientific calculator from the Foundation.
We would like to hear from any parents/carers of any children who are currently living in Ruddington, are in Year 6 (born between 1st September 2010 and 31st August 2011), and don’t attend St Peter’s Junior School, as they will also be eligible to receive these gifts. (The Trustees are already aware of those at St Peter’s School.)
If you know a child who fits the above criteria and attends primary school outside Ruddington or is home-schooled, please let us know by giving their name, date of birth and school attended to Mrs Liz Corder (Secretary) on 07940 915 060 or at jpfoundationrudd@gmail.com no later than Monday 20th June 2022.
*** Please note that applications made after this date cannot be accepted. ***
