This year’s “Ruddington Great Get Together Picnic” will take place on The Green on Saturday 22nd June from 12noon to 2.30pm.
John Hallam will be there again with his tractors for the youngsters to sit on and one lucky winner will be given a free ride around the village. Why not invite your neighbours, friends and family to join in? Pack up your lunch, blankets and games for the kids, and join us for some fun in the sunshine! There’ll be an ice cream van, too.
After last year’s success, we’ll be holding another “Great Get Together Tea Party” in St Peter’s Rooms from 2pm to 4pm. This is aimed at our older residents, with cake and drinks on offer and local musical trio, Songs 4U, entertaining us with songs of yesteryear. Ruddington Museum will also put on an exhibition of old photographs with the theme being “Celebration”.
The whole event is free to attend, thanks to the generous donations from Ruddington Co-op and local people, with support from the Parish Council.
The Great Get Together began two years ago in commemoration of Jo Cox MP. Communities all over the UK will come together inspired by Jo’s belief that: “We have more in common than that which divides us“.
Come and join us for a fun and relaxed afternoon!
