Kathy Powis, Chair of the Friends of the Framework Knitters Museum, is taking on a challenge with a difference on Sunday 21 August – wing walking on a Stearman bi-plane flying at 130mph over the Leicestershire countryside!
The aim of this impressive feat is to raise funds for the museum’s Redevelopment and Expansion Appeal, which will enable the museum to revamp its existing buildings and expand into the adjacent property, Gunn Cottage.
Says Kathy: ‘This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for people to sponsor me for doing a wing walk as trust me, I won’t be doing it again! I’m hoping lots of people will make a pledge or donate to this very worthy cause, which will transform the Framework Knitters Museum into an even more amazing place for visitors and other users in the future.’
If you’d like to sponsor Kathy’s Wing Walk, please fill in a sponsorship form at the museum shop during normal opening hours, or by contacting Kathy directly at mailto:kpinrudd@btinternet.com.
You can also donate online – just find Kathy’s Wing Walk in the Events section at www.frameworkknittersmuseum.org.uk and follow the link to her EveryClick.com page.
All donations are eligible for Gift Aid which will increase your contribution by 25% at no cost to you, so if you’re a UK taxpayer, please make sure you tick the Gift Aid box if donating online or collect a Gift Aid form from the museum.
