With the sad closure of the Body Centre, many of you may be wondering how to keep fit and stay in shape if you regularly attended their classes.
But don’t worry – there are still plenty of options in and around the village to support you. It’s important we all get the right amount of exercise; visit www.nhs.uk/livewell/fitness to find out what’s recommended for your age group.
If you enjoy running, Rushcliffe Country Park offers Parkruns on a weekly basis – see www.parkrun.org.uk/rushcliffe to find out more. And if running isn’t for you, you might find it easy to fit walking into your daily life, during shopping or walking your kids to school.
Local former fitness instructors at the Body Centre are now running the following classes:
- Alexandria-Lilliman Barker offers Fitness Pilates at the Hermitage in Ruddington on Monday nights, 7.15pm to 8pm and 8.15pm to 9pm. Call 07900 402 766 to book your place.
- Rachel Charlesworth is running Body Buddha, which offers run club and personal training throughout the week and Kettlercise on Sunday mornings – search for ‘Body Buddha’ on Facebook for details.
Ruddington Parish Council also has a full list of classes in the Health & Fitness section of their website, which is currently being updated.
