Ruddington-based charity, The Mustard Seed Project – Uganda, are delighted to announce that their popular Fashion Show will take place on Friday 6th March at St Peter’s Junior School from 7pm to 10pm.
This event, which has become an annual village highlight, is always a great night out, bringing together the opportunity to purchase fantastic value fashion (up to 75% off leading brands) and the chance to get up to date with the charity’s latest work.
The Fashion Show’s organisers also pride themselves on bringing the very best raffle prizes to their supporters and this year’s offerings don’t fall short! This year’s top prizes are a 3 night break for up to 4 people – kindly donated by Ruddington’s own National Car Finder – and an overnight stay with dinner, bed and breakfast at the Radisson Blu East Midlands Airport.
Other prizes have been donated by The Cottage Hotel, The Ruddington Arms and The Next Episode, The Frame Breakers, The Three Spices, Gino’s, Elegance Beauty, The White Horse Inn, Philo’s and Jasper’s. The Mustard Seed Project are honoured and extremely grateful to be strongly supported by so many of Ruddington’s local businesses. The raffle will be drawn at 9pm.
The Mustard Seed Project’s community fundraising group raises money to provide clean water, food and an education for children in Teso, Uganda. This year, the Fashion Show is specifically focussed on supporting girl’s football in Teso. Football coaching helps girls stay in school through teamwork and rights-based learning, which in turn helps prevent early marriage and pregnancy.
The Ugandan girls’ team, supported by the charity Team Raising Shero’s, have been selected to play at Kampala Stadium on International Women’s Day. They’re competing in the GGW cup East Africa, where they’re playing to raise awareness of gender inequality.
With this in mind, organisers are seeking donations of football boots to send out to Uganda – please get in touch if you can help.
If you’d like to buy tickets for the Fashion Show, they cost just £5 each and are available from Perkins Hardware, James Peacock School, St Peter’s School. Or, you can contact The Mustard Seed directly through their Facebook page or at info@mustardseeduganda.com.
