Sunday 1st September, 12 noon to 4pm, Kite Field, Rushcliffe Country Park
This is the afternoon you can amble over to Rushcliffe Country Park for the revival of the Kite Festival.
As a long standing resident of Ruddington, I fondly remember in the 1990s and early 2000s marvelling at the professionals from the Midlands Kite Fliers as they demonstrated their kite-flying skills on the first weekend in September.
This fondness was echoed by other residents, prompting me to approach the Parish Council Events Team – and with their support, the event will make a welcome return this year. The Midlands Kite Fliers are equally delighted to be invited back!
You’re welcome to come along just to spectate or you can bring your own kite. If you don’t have one, you’ll be able to make one for free at the event, courtesy of resources from Rushcliffe Play Forum. We can all then endeavour to make our kites fly!
Weather permitting, it will hopefully be an afternoon of good, old fashioned fun.
