Come and join Ruddington & District Choral Society and the Ruddington Chamber Ensemble on Saturday May 13th at 7.30 pm as we celebrate the Choir’s 60th anniversary year and the Coronation of King Charles III.
You’ll enjoy an evening of England’s musical heritage by the two great composers of royal music and pageantry: Purcell & Handel. Firstly, Purcell’s glorious “Come Ye Sons of Art” (the Birthday Ode for Queen Mary) and his sublime “Funeral Music for Queen Mary.”
These are two works by arguably the greatest ever English composer, and which are part of the rich tapestry of English music and history.
And, as a stirring and majestic finale, enjoy Handel’s great and much loved “Coronation Anthems,” including “Zadok the Priest” – a work sung at every Coronation since that of George II in 1727.
Be part of the Coronation celebrations and come along to St Peter’s Church, Ruddington for a night and an occasion to remember! Tickets cost £12 and are available on the door, from Perkins Hardware (Ruddington), or by calling 07590 311 992.
