Following the success of The Great Get Together picnic and tea party last weekend, the Parish Council Events Committee are busy preparing for the next community event, this year’s Ruddington Summer Fayre on Saturday 21st July.
The activities will be centred on The Green and include a variety of stalls offering a great range of products including crafts, Hook A Duck, natural cosmetics, arts and plants, temporary glitter and airbrush tattoos and much more.
There’s also a main stage hosting the first Ruddington’s Got Talent, a chance for anyone to come along and showcase their talent. Acts currently booked include Nara Belly Dancers, bands and choirs, and when the talent isn’t performing there’ll be a disco playing. Anyone interested in showcasing their talent can still contact office@ruddingtonparishcouncil.gov.uk to book a slot.
Also located on The Green will be a selection of fairground rides for the children to enjoy, along with the always entertaining Punch and Judy show. Beat Feet will be offering drumming workshops throughout the afternoon, so come along and learn a new skill.
Alongside all of the above, charity and community stands are also offered space as usual. These will include the Village Plan, the newly formed Ruddington and District U3A, Friends of James Peacock School and a Borough Council Surgery Tent that will have free bicycle coding during the afternoon.
After the very exciting recent news that Rushcliffe is to host the penultimate stage of the Tour of Britain Bike Race on Saturday 8th September, with the race coming through Ruddington, there’ll also be representation from Rushcliffe Borough Council, with lots more information about the Bike Race.
There’ll be a raffle on the day in support of our nominated charity, Bloomin’ Dementia, with prizes collected in so far including great items from local sports teams, health clubs, local shops and a wonderful hamper full of goodies!
Finally, there are various food and drink stalls available offering burgers, donuts and coffees, along with The Three Crowns bar selling lager, real ale, wine, prosecco and soft drinks.
With so much on offer this year we look forward to you joining us in making this a great community event. The fun starts at midday and the Fayre is open until 6pm on Saturday 21st July.
