It’s that time of year again, when the shops are filled with a sea of hearts and roses. But for the romantic types out there, you don’t need to venture too far to find some gorgeous gifts and delicious Valentine’s Day dinners.
Ruddington is growing fast and that means there are even more places in the village to shop and eat. Something Special will be stocking a great range of cards along with Yankee Candle gift sets, balloons, chocolates, jewellery, and gift packages. And if you’re the laid-back type, never fear, as they’ll be staying open late on Friday 13th for those last-minute purchases.
If your loved one likes sweet treats then pop along to Julia’s Kitchen for one of their giant heart-shaped cookies (order in advance) or pick up some of their delicious Valentine’s cupcakes.
Phoenix will be offering a range of bouquets to suit every budget, including the classic ‘dozen red roses’. They’ll also be opening late (6pm on Thursday 12th, 7pm on Friday 13th and 5pm on Saturday 14th) and can deliver locally.
Ruddington Grange Golf Club is hosting a Valentine’s Day lunch celebrating 10 years of TLC (Teddies for Loving Care) – all profits are going to the charity, which serves children in hospital across Nottinghamshire. The event is on Sat 8 February, so hurry to book your tickets.
For a Valentine’s treat with a difference, the Old Bakehouse is offering afternoon tea, or you can enjoy a romantic meal there in the evening. The White Horse and The Ruddington Arms are both also running a special Valentine’s menu for the occasion.
If you fancy a curry then head over to the Three Spices, or if you prefer some traditional Italian fayre then Gino’s is the place to be. And Bar Six is offering a four-course meal for couples, or if romance isn’t your thing, then they’ll also be serving up themed cocktails and shots in the bar.
It’s always best to book ahead for your Valentine’s meal to make sure you get the venue of your choice.
