A visit to a friend in Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, introduced me to Love on the Rocks – the national craze of decorating small rocks or pebbles, hiding them and then inviting others in a community to hunt for them.
On my return to Ruddington, I wanted to get adults and children alike to have fun decorating rocks and enjoy spending time in the fresh air hiding, hunting and then re-hiding them.
With the help of Rachel and Chandler Wilson, a “Love on the Rocks, Ruddington” Facebook page was set up on the 31st October 2017. This explains the idea and how to get involved. 186 people have signed up so far
It’s fantastic how quickly people and families have got involved. Everyone is enjoying decorating rocks and children are even enjoying the walk to school as they search for rocks en route.
Ruddington Fun has also supported this new fun village activity by providing decorating boxes complete with rocks, markers and varnish, so anyone who wants to can join in the fun.
So if you spot a decorated rock around the village, feel free to move it to another location to continue this new outdoor fun activity in our community.
