During the school summer holidays, the annual “Summer Reading Challenge” was held at our local library. This year, it was called “Mischief Makers” to celebrate 80 years of the Beano comic.
Children aged from 4 to 11 were invited to read six library books to enable them to complete the Challenge and collect rewards along the way.
216 children started the Challenge and 133 (62%) completed it. This was 25% more than the number of children who started the challenge last year. There was also a 4% increase in the number finishing it. The Library team are delighted with the results.
Well done to all who took part!
