Do you run or work for a business based in Ruddington or nearby? Would you like to support a local cause by having a collecting tin on your counter, bar or other public area? If so, the Framework Knitters Museum would like to hear from you!
The Museum recently bought Gunn Cottage, a property adjacent to their existing buildings on Church Street, with a view to greatly expanding the Museum’s exhibition space and visitor facilities. To make this happen, the Museum needs to raise considerable funds for the necessary conversion works to take place. And whilst it’s still early days in terms of fundraising, the Museum is keen to raise awareness of the Gunn Cottage project by placing collecting tins – and possibly posters or leaflets as well – into local businesses.
‘Ruddington is packed with customer-facing businesses like pubs, shops, food outlets and hairdressers,’ says the Museum’s Manager, Paul Baker. ‘We’re hoping that, by promoting our plans for Gunn Cottage in some of these businesses, we can generate local interest and enthusiasm for our project as well as raising vital funds.’
Going forward, the Framework Knitters Museum is looking to strengthen its links with village businesses and other organisations in a number of ways. Please contact Paul on 0115 984 6914 if you’re interested in working with the Museum for your mutual benefit.
