The Mustard Seed Project, led by Sally Squires, is celebrating a successful fundraising year which has seen a school and health centre built on the island of Tisai in Uganda. The children on the island now have access to fresh water and porridge, and underwear for the women and girls has been sent, along with hundreds of pairs of shoes.
The Mustard Seed team has hosted a fashion show at St Peter’s Junior School and the 50th birthday celebrations at James Peacock School. The team has also run marathons and jumped from planes, sold handmade teddy bears, and enabled Ruddington primary school children to make a music CD which celebrates diversity.
We’re currently collecting items to be sent in a container to Uganda next spring, and are looking for donations of bikes, cotton bedding, spectacles, crutches, manual sewing machines, children’s clothes and toys, school equipment etc.
If you have items to donate, please contact the team at info@mustardseeduganda.com and we’ll arrange for collection and storage.
