Nottinghamshire County Council will resurfacing the A60 Loughborough Road between Ashworth Avenue and Easthorpe Street in Ruddington. Due to the nature of the work, the section of the A60 between the Nottingham Knight Island and Flawforth Lane / Kirk Lane will be closed to through-traffic during the following periods between Monday 19th and Sunday 25th October:-
From 7pm Monday 19th to 6am Tuesday 20th
- From 7pm Tuesday 20th to 6am Wednesday 21st
- From 7pm Wednesday 21st to 6am Thursday 22nd
- From 7pm Thursday 22nd to 6am Friday 23rd
- From 7pm Friday 23rd to 6am Saturday 24th
- From 7pm Saturday 24th to 6am Sunday 25th
The signed diversion route for through-traffic along the A60 Loughborough Road will be:-
A52 Nottingham ring-road between the Nottingham Knight island and Wheatcroft island
- Flawforth Lane between Wheatcroft island and the traffic signals at its junction with Loughborough Road and Kirk Lane
Access from the Nottingham Knight island to properties along the Old Loughborough Road, Ashworth Avenue and adjacent roads will still be maintained during the periods of the road closure, however it would be preferable if vehicular access to the rest of Ruddington would be via the above signed diversion route or via the Europa Way / Landmere Lane / Wilford Road route.
The weight restriction along Flawforth Lane will be suspended when the A60 Loughborough Road will be closed to through-traffic, however Nottingham-bound HGVs will be directed to use an alternative HGV route:-
A6006 between Rempstone and Hathern
- A6 between Hathern and junction 24 Kegworth Interchange
- A453 between junction 24 Kegworth Interchange and the Silverdale interchange
- A52 Nottingham ring-road between the Silverdale interchange and the Nottingham Knight island
Letters have been sent to businesses along the A60 corridor between Ruddington and Loughborough informing them of the night-time road closures and asking them to consider using the alternative HGV route in both directions in order to minimise the number of HGVs using Flawforth Lane.
If you require any further information regarding the resurfacing works and road closures then please contact the project engineer for this scheme, Jarek Bien, on 01623 873935, via e-mail on jarek.bien@nottscc.gov.uk, or by post to Nottinghamshire County Council, Bilsthorpe Business Park, Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire NG22 8ST
Nottinghamshire County Council apologises in advance for any inconvenience that the resurfacing work and road closures may cause, however we would also like to ask for your patience and co-operation whilst the works are in progress and we would like to assure you that every effort will be made to keep the disruption to a minimum.
We would like to thank you for your assistance and co-operation. Traffic marshals will be on site to give advice on access and egress from properties. Please take care during these works and observe all signs and instructions from site personnel.
