The Black and Yellows have found new support from one of our village’s newer businesses. Ruddington Village Butchers is now the sponsor of Ruddington Village Ladies FC’s new training tops. Players Kirsty Carnelly, Deborah West and Abbey Gimson (pictured) went to officially accept their new branded clothing from Director Stuart White and manager Shane Ginty at their shop on Church Street. “I wanted to support the team to thank the village for supporting our business since we reopened the butcher’s last year” says Stuart. And team manager Russ Gimson was just as pleased that his squad have received sponsorship within the village: “The tops are really smart and make us look even more professional when we’re training or travelling to away fixtures”. Ruddington play in the East Midlands Women’s Football League – the second level up for senior ladies.
Abbey told me that all the players – around 20 in all – love the style and design of their new black and yellow clothing and were looking forward to wearing them at their next fixture. And the new tops certainly seemed to do the job – as they thrashed Retford Ladies away, 9 goals to nil!
They’d welcome your support at home games played on Sundays at 2pm in Elms Park. And you can also now follow them on Twitter @RVLFC.

Further message from Andy Scott, (RVFC General Secretary). “We thank local businesses such as the Shepshed Building Society who were the main sponsor of our Presentations Event, and organisations such as the Rotary Club for Xmas donations. I can’t mention all the local shops, organisations and businesses that support us in this small article, but would like to thank them on behalf of the club for their contributions in these difficult times. Their donations go a long way to helping us provide affordable football for our community – we would struggle even more without them.” If you want help, or want to know more about the club, please contact Andy on 07910 663 158.
