My name is Gavin and I used to work at the Under 14s Youth Club at the Ruddington Young People’s Centre on The Green from 2000 to 2014. Since 2014, I’ve been working at Beeston Young People’s Centre and I’ve completed 33 years as a Youth Worker for Nottinghamshire County Council.
Alongside my colleague Julie, I’m pleased to have opened a youth work session in the Village Hall for young people in school year 6, which now runs on Thursday evenings from 6:15pm to 8:15pm (term time only).
The youth work sessions are staffed by qualified Youth Workers who work for Nottinghamshire County Council. We offer a range of fun and engaging activities including sports/games, art and crafts, and cooking activities in a warm space that’s kindly being provided by Ruddington Parish Council.
Our key values are trust, respect, safety and enjoyment in a safe, warm and welcoming space.
The cost per session is 50p. I look forward to welcoming more young people to along and meeting their parents, some of whom I may remember from the ‘old days’!
