Church House Surgery on Shaw Street is one of four Nottinghamshire GP practices moving to an online appointment booking system in a bid to improve access.
Village Health Group, which also runs surgeries in Keyworth, East Leake and Sutton Bonington, is asking patients to request to see their GP online rather than over the phone.
It said its new ‘total triage’ system, set to be rolled out in June, will improve access to appointments and make the process more convenient for patients.
However, the group has also assured patients that phone lines will remain open to help people who have difficulty accessing the internet.
A statement on the Village Health Group website said: “We’re changing and improving how you can access our appointment system from a predominantly telephone only access offer to an increased online request offer. Patients should submit the details of their medical or administrative need via our website.”
