After the excitement of the Jubilee Celebrations at the beginning of June, there is yet another village event planned for the weekend of 2nd and 3rd July. This is Ruddington Open Gardens, held in aid of Save the Children and Action for Children. Gardens and other attractions will be open from 2pm to 6pm on both days.
As well as the gardens and allotments that will be open, there’ll be refreshments at various venues, live music on both afternoons at the Methodist Church, vintage bus rides (Saturday only), plant sales, stalls and games, and a free children’s picture trail.
There’ll also be an art exhibition and workshops provided by the Ruddington Art & Craft Society at the Framework Knitters’ Museum.
Programmes, including a village map, will be available from the beginning of June, priced at £5.00, from various local shops and Thomas James Estate Agents. Look out for the posters advertising programme sales. We’ll also be selling programmes on the Saturday and Sunday morning, from 10am at Ruddington Coop.
In addition, visitors will also be able to buy programmes at any of the participating gardens or allotments and at the Methodist Church, so it’s possible to start your tour anywhere you wish to. The programme covers both days and accompanied children are free.
If you’d like any further information or would like to help in any way, please contact either myself (je.piggott@btinternet.com), Mike Davey at Ruddington Gardeners’ Association (mrdavey004@btinternet.com) or Chris Marriott at Ruddington Art & Craft Society (thdesign4@googlemail.com).
Please do support this charity event if you are able to; we would love to see you!
