At the end of the Spring Term local resident and teacher, Mrs Julia Starr, retired after 27 years teaching at James Peacock Infant and Nursery School.
Since her arrival at the school in 1989 numerous local children (including my own daughter) have been fortunate enough to have her help them along their education journey.
Her retirement was marked by a special Assembly to enable the current pupils to sing to her and present her with gifts and cards.
Julia will now be able to spend more time with her family. She and her husband also intend to utilise their newly acquired motorhome to travel and occupy their new found free time together.
The families of Ruddington extend their best wishes to her for a happy retirement.
