I’m writing to thank all those involved in organising Ruddington’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations; the events were most enjoyable. I attended the lighting of the beacon, the Village Market and tree planting ceremony, and the historical tour led by Gavin Walker. His presentation was excellent and I learned new facts about Ruddington, despite having lived here for several decades!
The yarn bombers’ and Brownies’ delightful knitting work made me smile, whilst the decorations and displays around the streets, in the shops and Library, etc lifted the spirits. The activities gave opportunities for seeing and chatting with others and there was a good community feeling during the jubilations. It was a lovely way to congratulate The Queen on her 70 years of service.
I appreciate how much planning, commitment and time goes into coordinating such major occasions and would be grateful if you could forward my thanks to individuals as appropriate, for their hard work.
