During the summer holidays, don’t forget to visit the village library.
The annual Summer Reading Challenge began on Saturday 8th July and runs until Sunday 8th September and encourages children to read six books over the summer holidays.
This year, the Challenge is called Ready, Set, Read, and is developed in collaboration with the Youth Sport Trust. It will see children help a fictional team of characters weave their way through a summer obstacle course, earning rewards for every library book they read and a prize at the end if they complete the Challenge!
Children aged 4 to 11 are invited to pop into the library and sign up for FREE. Then, during the summer, they can enjoy reading six library books to enable them to complete the Challenge and collect rewards along the way.
This year, our library celebrates 60 years at its current site, so why not make it an extra special year by taking up the Summer Reading Challenge?
