The new GCRN Board has decided to rebrand the railway as the Nottingham Heritage Railway, effective immediately.
We felt it was time to freshen up the railway’s image, and the new name is more inclusive and reflective of our strong links with the City of Nottingham and the Rushcliffe area. The rebranding has now taken place across all media.
We’ll be asking local schools to participate in a design competition for a new logo, which we’ve asked Ruth Edwards, our local MP, to judge.
The existing legal and regulatory name will remain unchanged.
Mike Newton – GCRN Chairman
On behalf of the Board of Directors – GCRN
Editor’s Note: As activities ramp up, the Nottingham Heritage Railway is looking for more volunteers to join its existing team. A post on Facebook says: “The Board is looking to create an active pool of volunteers to assist the new Site and Operations directors, so please step forward if you are not already involved and would like to help.
More broadly, if you have skills of any relevant nature or just plain enthusiasm, and would like to be involved at the NHR, please email the board at directors@gcrn.co.uk.
We need to strengthen in every area. Whether you are interested in administration, H&S, finance, catering, marketing, engineering, train crew or operations is unimportant. We can find a role for you.”
