The new Bellway Housing development on Pasture Lane is developing on a daily basis. The homes are now being actively marketed and a couple of weeks ago the first road signage was installed.
In the June issue of this newsletter Peter McGowan did an article about the proposal to name the roads after the 3 local soldiers who survived the Battle of Rorke’s Drift in 1879. They are buried in the old Vicarage Lane Cemetery in the village.
The first honour has gone to Robert Tongue (1857-1918). As the estate develops James Marshall and Caleb Wood will also be commemorated.
